Research: ENEA wins 45 EU projects worth 13 million euros
ENEA won 45 new projects last year which obtained 12.7 million euro funding from the European Commission, of which 55% covered by the Horizon 2020 framework programme, as outlined by the recently published report “ENEA contracts with the European Commission”, which also highlights ENEA's participation in 179 European projects in 2022, for a total funding of 50.3 million euros and the involvement of 1,500 partners.
The report shows an average success rate of 33% of the projects presented in the 2021-2027 European programming, with a percentage increase of 21% in the 2014-2020 period. In summary, out of 198 proposals submitted, 53 were financeable for a total of approximately 16 million euros.
Most of the ENEA projects that have accessed European funding concern energy, particularly the renewables sector (31%), 27% concern nuclear power and almost 20% energy efficiency, followed by projects concerning environmental issues (climate change and air quality) around 15%, and life sciences (10%).
“In 2022, the year in which the activities funded by the new European programming 2021-2027 started, ENEA's commitment in presenting the new project proposals was rewarded with a significant success rate increase”, pointed out Alessandro Coppola, head of the Innovation and Development Directorate which edited the report.
