Energy: ENEA and the Municipality of Rome form alliance for decarbonisation plans
Promoting innovative energy and digitalisation technologies to support the diffusion of renewable sources, energy communities, hydrogen, smart grids and sustainable mobility is the main focus of the three-year collaboration agreement between ENEA and the Municipality of Rome, signed by mayor Roberto Gualtieri and ENEA director general Giorgio Graditi. The objective of the agreement is to consolidate and launch new initiatives in the energy and environmental fields to promote decarbonisation of the energy system, adaptation to climate change, efficiency of the end uses of energy and protection of territories and ecosystems.
“This agreement aims at strengthening the technical-scientific collaboration between ENEA and the Municipality of Rome on environmental and energy sustainability,” said director general Graditi. The terms and methods of the commitments will be regulated through specific implementation agreements, particularly as concerns the activities conducted in collaboration and those under the responsibility of each party, the methods of execution and the duration, with the objective of providing a concrete contribution to the ongoing ecological transition."
“The Minicipality of Rome is carrying out ambitious decarbonisation and climate plans”, said Mayor Roberto Gualtieri. “Joining forces with Enea means having an important technical-scientific partner in identifying choices regarding the future of the city, helping implement effective interventions to fight climate change and making the capital more liveable”.
The parties may agree, through implementing agreements, to carry out applied research projects or other initiatives pertaining to scientific and/or training activities to achieve the established objectives.
