Research: ENEA and Leonardo Foundation together for the popularization of science

ENEA and Fondazione Leonardo - Civiltà delle Macchine ETS have signed a collaboration agreement to promote awareness of the role of technological and scientific advances for civil society and stimulate debate on its impact and benefits.

Specifically, the collaboration will involve social labs, a cross-media dissemination project (through the Foundation's digital and social platforms), focused on promoting research among young people and STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through dissemination videos made by researchers. The goal is to stimulate curiosity and interest in science subjects among young people by showing research done in laboratories in simple and engaging language. Together with professional journalists, multimedia communication experts and videomakers, Fondazione Leonardo Civiltà delle Macchine ETS works to raise awareness, opening up new spaces for discussion and in-depth analysis through partnerships with other foundations, associations, institutions, universities, agencies and private companies.

ENEA, with its highly skilled staff, state-of-the-art laboratories, experimental facilities and top-notch equipment, will contribute to the project by providing short videos made by young researchers that in simple and popular language will tell about innovations, study outcomes and patents. The collaboration is part of the agency's initiatives aimed at the enhancement and transfer of scientific and technological research results.

Leonardo Foundation promotes the cultural growth of civil society on the topics of science, industry and technology. Established in 2018, on the occasion of Leonardo Spa's 70th anniversary, since January 2024 it has been a third-sector entity and, as such, pursues non-profit civic, solidarity and socially useful purposes, carrying out activities of general interest in the fields of communication and education. The backbone of its action is an outreach program developed through the production and distribution of multimedia content focused on scientific disciplines and the main themes at the center of global debate.
